Gypsum Powder Production Line Equipment

Gypsum powder, an essential building material widely utilized in various applications such as plastering, drywall production, and cement manufacturing, is derived from the natural mineral gypsum through a specialized processing chain. At the heart of this transformation lies the gypsum powder production line, a meticulously designed assembly of equipment that efficiently converts raw gypsum into its refined, powdered form. 1. Crushing & Screening EquipmentThe process begins with the receipt of raw gypsum, typically in the form of rocks or lumps. The initial stage involves crushing the gypsum using jaw crushers or hammer mills to reduce its size to a manageable fraction. Subsequently, screening equipment, such as vibrating screens, separates the crushed material into different particle size ranges, ensuring that only suitable particles proceed to the next stage.1. Calcination SystemCalcination is a crucial step in gypsum powder production, where the raw gypsum is heated to remove moisture and convert it into calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CaSO4·0.5H2O), commonly known as plaster of Paris. This is accomplished in a calciner, which can be either a rotary kiln or a fluidized bed furnace. The calcination temperature, typically ranging from 120°C to 180°C, is precisely controlled to optimize the dehydration process while minimizing energy consumption and preventing over-calcination.
